Ward 9 is the heart of Charleston stretching along the Kanawha River and covering most of downtown and the East End.
If you’ve hit a concert at the Coliseum, a festival at Haddad, lunch on Capitol Street, or a show at the Clay Center, you’ve already been here. It’s where the city’s biggest events, best music, and true Charleston energy live.

Our Team.
Every campaign starts with a belief, ours is that Charleston can be stronger, fairer, and more connected. I’m proud to have three incredible people by my side who live that belief every day:
Hallie Jarrell, Dr. Frank Mace, and Mami Kowata.
Hallie and Frank have been longtime community advocates, working to strengthen our neighborhoods and uplift local voices. Mami, has dedicated herself to service work here in Charleston and is a passionate supporter of our local businesses. Together, they bring heart, leadership, and purpose to this movement. A team driven by the idea that when we show up for one another, we all rise together.
